WHERE: Chapman Mills Barrhaven
This park was a neat discovery on a humid morning. It has multiple play areas including a partially fenced in toddler yard, large old wooden climber (yes!), and a small water feature. The swings and tire swing are down the hill in a seperate space allowing for some easily supervised independent play for slightly older children.
Chapman Mills Park doesn't have a street address but is located on Windhurst Dr. in Barrhaven. It sits in the middle of a well established subdivision and has a great family friendly atmosphere. There is a small bench lined patio, reminiscent of a small amphitheater, and a basketball net and large field.
It isn't the biggest park in the city, but with a small grove of trees in the middle there is ample shade and plenty of areas to explore.
We stayed for almost two hours and I still had to drag them away, so this park was definitely a winner!
Have you been? What do you think about the quirky little water spout?
