REVIEW: HAVENCREST WOODS PARK - BARRHAVEN WEST

Nestled on the edge of Barrhaven, tucked away on a side street where most people would never think to look is one of the coolest new parks in Ottawa!

Havencrest Woods Park is located at 636 Barry Hellman Cr. in Barrhaven, right across from the Costco Shopping complex. It boasts two separate climbing structures as well as a short nature trail and shaded forest.

Unlike many of the neighbouring parks there are no swings here, which to be honest I think is a huge relief because it means the kids actually went exploring immediately instead of making me do all that work! There are also actual sizeable trees that provide excessive shade and keep the park nice and cool even with the ridiculous heat we've had this summer. The climbers each feature adorable little details, styled to look like tree houses perched in the forest complete with a buddy raccoon and a chimney!

Everything about this park is really unique for Barrhaven and I feel like we really lucked in the day we found it.
